November Update

Twinkle
Thanksgiving is over and we are full swing into the Christmas Season. We have been on major trips, celebrated Thanksgiving, enjoyed having the kids off for a week, been sick and enjoyed family.

First of all I wanted to update you on our respective trips. I went to New York City at the beginning of the month and on the same weekend Todd took the kids to Boulder City to visit his Dad, Cristina and Alan, catch the Nellis Air Show and take the kids to Circus Circus and a number of other things.

City Street
My trip amazing in many different ways. New York City is now on my list of must see and explore places. We didn't even see the tip of the iceberg so to speak. Yet, we didn't have a moment to pause because of all we packed into 3 days. Let's see if I can name all the places and things we saw in one paragraph.

Thursday: Fly into Philly, drive to NJ, eat dinner, go to bed at 12:30a.m.
Friday: Get up 3:30a.m., take train into Penn Station and the day begins. The Today Show, Matt, Al, Merideth, Natalie and Giada DeLarentis of the Food Network, The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center,Radio City Music Hall opening day of the 75th Anniversary Christmas show with the Rockettes, Bobby Flays restaurant Bar Americain-yum, Central Park, FAO Shwartz, MoMA-Museum of Modern Art, Carriage Ride in Central Park, Times Square, Dinner at Juniors-the best cheesecake in the world, Train to NJ and bedtime.
Ground Zero4
Saturday: Leisurly morning, Chelsea Market for lunch, Ground Zero, Trinity Church, Dolce and Gabbana(notice the spelling)handbag-"$65 for you lady". "I'll give you $20". and on it goes. I got it for $25-Dad would be proud. Federal Hall, The Bull, NY Stock Exchange, Bowling Alley Park and RATS!, Battery Park, First glimpse of the Statue of Liberty, Max Brenner's Chocolate Restaurant-white chocolate martini,delish!-pulled pork crepes and white chocoate soup for dessert, Macy's-wooden escalators, Swarofski's Crystal New Years Ball to be dropped this New Years Eve-that was beautiful! Carrie and I getting seperated from our group as we try to purchase our "stuff". We were fine but our head honcho was a nervous wreck. Back to NJ.
NYC Skyline 1
Sunday - Drive through the NJ countryside, Church, Princeton, The Soup Nazi, NJ Turnpike-Fairy to Ellis and Liberty Island, Lady Liberty-beautifu1!-Souvenier shopping, Fairy ride back at Sunset-spectacular, pictures of the NYC skyline, stepped on an eel and didn't scream-the fisherman watching were disappointed I think. Heading back to our friends house, dinner, bedtime.
Monday - pack up, drive to Philly, wait for 3 hours in the airport, decompress a little, fly to Portland, get Starbucks on the way out of town, a little bit of car trouble, home and sleep for a very long time.

I will let Todd tell about his trip to Nevada. He and the kids had a terrific time as well and here are a few pictures.

Thanksgiving was spent with Christy's family and my family combined. We had a very nice time. We topped the day off with movies. Enchanted was the girls and kids destination and Die Hard on Dad and Mom's big screen was the boys destination.

The rest of the weekend was spent nursing fevered children, decorating for Christmas and playing on the Wii.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. Have a wonderful Christmas Season everyone.
I have continued to update our Flickr sight with photos. If you want to keep up with our photos here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29387806@N00/

This weekend Todd arranged for the kids to fly in a helicopter. Our neighbor is a pilot and in exchange for us chopping down a tree in our yard so they can have a mountain view from their house, he offered to take the kids up in the helicopter.

This is Moriah getting ready to take off. They are going through the preflight check.

Both kids were hesitant but once they were airborn, they decided they could fly all the time.

Future Helicopter Pilot
Doesn't Caleb look like he is a budding pilot?

We spent 2 hours at the Bend Airport watching the kids get in, put the head sets on, go through the preflight check and away they'd go. They both got to be flown over our house and Pilot Butte as well as Todd's work and a few other things. They loved, loved, loved it.

Our next adventures will take place next weekend. Todd and the kids will head to Nevada to spend time with his Dad and Alan as well as see the air show at Nellis Airforce Base. I am flying to New Jersey with 4 of my friends and we will try and kill ourselves by hitting every last event and tourist sight that is in the vicinity of New York City and Philidelphia. I'll let you know how that goes. I can't wait!

Happy Flying!
