Merry Christmas

From our Family to you...Merry Christmas!

Monday, December 17, 2007

It's December and a little over a week away from Christmas.

It has been a relatively mellow December for us. Our life has consisted of kid stuff, children's play at church which both kids had a part in and did spectacularly well. For me, designing and helping make the set for the kids play and getting ready for Christmas. I am determined to get our Christmas cards out this year by Wednesday. If I put on a blog, I have to be accountable to make it happen right?

Todd has busy at work. So much so that his body has decided to give him an unscheduled vacation in the form a long lasting fever, cough etc. The remedy has been no work since last Wednesday and sleep, sleep and more sleep. Poor guy. He's been pretty miserable. He is working from home this morning and plans to go into work this afternoon for some meetings.

Yesterday we went and got our Christmas Tree....at a lot. All were glad to get it but disappointed we werent' out in the woods cutting it down. The kids chose a "fluffy" tree this year. It's a douglas fir. Todd said he grew up with fluffy trees and I think is enjoying the change from our usually Charlie Brownish Noble Firs that we cut in the woods. You know the one. It's 8 feet tall, pencil thin with 5 branches on it. We always wait until mid December to get our trees because when Christmas rolls around they are usually so dried out they are turning orange and all the needles have fallen off in the middle of the living room. I understand why my Mom was always a little grumpy about Christmas when the day after Christmas was here. The cleanup is hard work.

We are hoping this week, everyone is perky and we can have a little fun. Todd is going on vacation as of Saturday for a little over a week and we are hoping to do some sledding, maybe some snowshoing, lots of baking, movie watching and taking in the Christmas Season.

We hope and pray your Christmas season is filled with joy and fun.

Happy Sunshine,
Tulip
