Spring 2010 & A Trip to Honduras

Okay.  I haven't posted in a very, very long time.  So here I am.  Back at it.

I thought I'd update you on what we are doing.  Spring is always a CRAZY time of year at our house.  School is winding up.  Afterschool activities turn into a daily occurance.  Programs to show off what the kids have learned this year become nearly a weekly occurance.  It is crazy and wonderful...we love it!  Not to mention the hope of summer.

Spring in Central Oregon is most of the native Central Oregonians least favorite time of year.  I really don't like spring.  We usually get snow, nasty rain, clouds and more clouds with wind.  Then just to upset me more, we get a beautiful teaser day.  You know what I'm talking about?  The kind of day when you wake up to blue skys, birds singing, warm weather, hope that we will see summer soon...then whamo!  The next day, you are likely to freeze to death and be buried under ice and snow.  People around here are kind of funny though because after having this happen 2 or 3 times we begin to rebel and wear our flip flops, capri's and tank tops anyway.  At any given time, you may see one of us standing in an inch of snow with a grim look on our faces defying the weather, wearing hope in our hearts that we will win this war and summer will show her lovely face soon.

Sorry, I got side tracked by weather :-)  Anyways, our family is doing well.  Ri and I are preparing for a trip to Honduras.  We are leaving in a little over a week and a half.  We are super excited to see our friends who live down there.  In addition, Riah has 2 more track meets to race in, piano lessons and we still have to pack.  Caleb, well, he turns 10 in about 6 days and in our house that is a very BIG deal.  He is planning to celebrate with a Star Wars themed slumber party and all the craziness to go with it.  In addition, he is wrapping up his time in AWANAs at church for the year, going to his violin lessons, going to martial arts and being a very busy boy.

Todd and I?  Well, we are trying to keep up with the kids.  Todd is working hard as always and I am the taxi/house keeper/wife/friend/ etc.  Life is really good and we are grateful for all we have going on.

I am hoping to post blog updates as much as possible for our Honduras trip.  I don't know what internet access will be like down there but I will do my best to show you pictures and tell you stories about what we have been up to.

For now, I hope you are having a great spring.
